On behalf of Drs. Christopher Johnson and Kamaria Nelson, we welcome you to join us for our wedding. We are delighted for your presence and well wishes on our special day. Please use this website to find updated information about our wedding weekend.
Christopher and Kamaria met in Nashville, TN at Meharry Medical College in 2012 while obtaining their Masters in Health Science (M.H.S.) degrees. They were both accepted into medical school at Meharry, and their friendship quickly grew when they decided to join the same study group. During their 2nd year of medical school, they realized they had become more than just friends, and they decided to take the next step to start dating. Kamaria knew that Christopher was "the one" when he braved the Nashville snow and ice and walked 5 miles to bring her soup and medicine from the drug store when she had a cold. Christopher knew that Kamaria was the one during their M.H.S. program because of her silly, loving and caring personality. He discovered that they could spend hours talking about anything from politics to Marvel superheros to new restaurants. They dated for 6 years, and they were able to maintain their relationship while long distance and during two medical residencies. Christopher proposed to Kamaria at the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. on November 10, 2020 during the national pandemic. Their families could not attend the proposal due to the pandemic, so Christopher orchestrated a surprise photography session so that their families could enjoy this special moment. They are excited to celebrate their union with their families and friends and hope that you can attend their special day.
